I don't know if anyone in this forum is any good at illustrator. I'm learning my way around it after being pretty good at photoshop.

Basically, you can make a normal rectangle and then add a layer effect of round edges. This makes the edges round, but can you make it so that this layer effect then applies to the path of the rectangle so it is permanent?

I looked on the website, and it says you can apply a filter? But I can't find that anywhere.
