IKS patch for the Spiderbox 7000/9000/9900

Lets just clairify this shall we, 50 euro for vip membership.
Membership gives you what other than IKS key?
I have no issue with the IKS being 50e as its a bargain if it lasts.
It's the issue of spiderbox owners who have only just bought their stb's that will need to pay again.

this all stinks of a big sting to me, so the patch is free, the key is free, but the free key is only given to those who 'donate' €50 to become a VIP member of a forum that they may never of heard of in their lifes (i dont know the forum being talked about)

people choose to donate to forums when they feel the forum has goven them something, and most donations are simply that, a donation, normally of a small amount, as a way of saying thanks

to ask for a donation of such a high amount, to become a VIP member and get a key, is a loophole so that when the key stops working in 12 weeks time after thousands of donations have been received, there will be no comebacks, as the 'donations' were exactly that. this is probably also why the paypal system was down for them for a while, as so many payments all at once would have trigered a scam response with paypal

my spidey senses are tingling on this one, and i think itll all end in tears (except for the forum receiving the 'donations')

the forum in question is buzzing with activity and i can see someone(mention no names) making a absolute s*** load of cash from this and all the spoonfed brigade are donating their 50 euro,s willingly!! imo if you want a gift style box then get a protek,regards mdt

*if* it's the 'the other forum' that I assume it is any comment on there, VIP or not, that can be seen as criticism or complaint will, no doubt, lead to an instant ban.

Well i am not very clever at understanding what as happened ,except that i have had my Spiderbox about five weeks,bought a wireless dongle, a 1 metre dish ,etc etc, a fair few quid,I realise that you pays your money and you
takes your chance.But as a novice i appreciate that what has happened is not down to any other problem than £££££££££££££sss and greed,and how opportune that a solution is given almost before the event ,its just a shame
that i would have to dig deep again whats being quoted 50 euros, ok not bad if you got 10-12 months or thereabouts but after 5 weeks is a bitter pill to swallow ,and after another 50 euros how many weeks for that there are no guarantees agreed ,but we must all remember what type of ppl we are dealing with and handing our cash over to dont be naive like me!!! give your money to SKY if you want to watch the programs lol.

reading some of the replies here, please dont tell me the 'other' forum is alshat? or any other forum thats intricatley linked to the spiderboxes, if so, ill bet that all these €50 aont be worth fook all by xmas, and itll be more tales of 'we was told this would sort it' when all you did was got conned into 'donating' to a forum

donate €10 to my skydive charity instead by clicking the red vodafone link in my siggy, that way ill save you €40, and the €10 you spend will actually be going to a good cause

there maybe something in the pipeline for people such as yourself depending were you purchased the box and if you have proof of purchase although nothing has been decided from what ive read.. for a extra £30 quid and a great deal of reading you could have got a vu+solo clone and a jsc1 to 8 viewing card instead of a spiderbox and you could have most of the channels available through other methods. no-one should rely on any type of box for watching premium content and if you want certainty then get an official s*y sub or similar as everything else is a risk and those of us who have been in the sat game since analogue days know this only too well,regards mdt

the 'ethernet' or 'gift' has been the major selling point of the spiderbox since its launch. boxes that can do exactly the same, without this feature, can be bought for as little as £50 if you look around, boxes that can do a LOT more can be bought for £150, with twin tuners and unlimited access to other online services, so for the money that people have paid, especially if they have only recently bought the receiver, then what they have ended up with, is a very raw deal indeed

but

i have said for a VERY long time, that if you cannot afford to lose every penny you paid for the receiver, if buying it to use with an illegal server, or other form of illegal way of clearing channels, then, you shouldnt have bought it in the first place

your spiderboxes will still be able to connect to a just as dodgey card share server, but, youll now have to also pay a monthly fee to clear channels, sometimes, its just easier to take out a sly subscritption, espeially when theres some sites offering codes with 50-75% off, which means you could have full HD, 3D and PVR, as well as on demand, including iPlayer etc, for ~ £320 for the whole year (if you get the best deal)

what a bargain some people have now had.......:/

I was around in the analogue days and had some great fun, never got too involved but enjoyed every minute ,i did not know anything was "available " til i saw a sponsors ad on another forum ,while reliving the past lol, spider box sounded great without too much involvement,but it is a different world from them days ,and everything is geared to the fast buck , not much fun anymore ,sad really,

and also seem to know what the spiderbox is capable of ,but that doesnt seem to be the case for everybody and i found it very difficult to gleen information regarding same, because of the covert way information can be displayed ,,in retrospect maybe

things like this have killed the real hobby of satellite tv, years ago, when 'card sharing' was just that, hobbyists 'sharing' their own cards, people would say 'i can receive 11,956 channels, and can clear 9,874 of them' and the reply would be 'wow, thats great, what do you watch?'

'oh, i dont watch telly, i just like to see how many channels i can get.......'

now its all about people making money from those what want to watch tv for as close to free as possible, and its things like that that make providors start to take notice and start to lock down the things that have quietly been hapening for years and years

as usual, the few (greedy ones wanting to make money) spoil it for the many (real hobbyists) and will eventually bring the whole lot to an end, and itll be the people looking to save money, who have been paying the scammers looking to the real community to 'fix' things for them, when all along, its been them who have slowly been the cancer eating away at the hobby that allowed them to watch for cheap in the first place

DW has no sponsors m8, its completley independant (it may have google placed ads etc, but no sponsor)

ive always been very vocal about receivers like this, even when the idea of the spiderbox was first posted a few years ago, i said it couldnt last and would one day end in tears, but, for the early takers of the receiver, they have had one hell of a good run, and have NO reason to complain, for newer users, then depending on HOW they was sold the receiver, along with its 'features' then they may have some pathway to be refunded, but, personally, i wouldnt hold my breath, the company i work for stopped selling spiderboxes about 18 months ago, and even then, 'the gift' was not used as a selling point

without this gift, its just another box that could be bought for 50 quid on ebay, in fact, since this happening, id imagine ebay will now be slowly filling up with them

but, it still has the best remote controll ive ever seen bundled with a sat receiver lol

Dirty trick for anyone who has just bought a spiderbox or not long purchased one.
I take it that this is the end for the spiderbox?
As there is no longer ethernet to tempt new buyers there are many other stb's on market now to choose from.
The spiderbox has been an excellent receiver and good quality build, and if the IKS patch works for the amount of time it's meant to the IKS patch is a bargain at 50 euro.
Time will tell, but doesn't seem right for new owners.

What the free channels has to do with this!?( check your red post ) is not still an excellent receiver and good quality build haw you say ? If are channels or no for free...from long time like 1.5 year no one has from Spider team has promises Free channels ! why people like always get think free ! Same Money you could get i STB and you know very well with No channels and been beta tester for two year..

What was Gift was Gift should be appreciated for it...and no thing more.

who is getting Money or not, is not doing only to spiderbox they are many forums and they do that with all stb what is diffidence with spider box ! Those people do with Dreambox vu plus and others those boxes still exist..That mean no thing.

Hi manic 01, the other forum the one that has the IKS patch always points out that the 50 euro's is for VIP membership NOT for the patch or key.
Anyone can download the patch it's free, if you decide to become a VIP member and pay the VIP membership fee of 50 euro's then you will receive a free key to unlock the full potential of the patch.
I post this just to keep the record straight the 50 euro's is for VIP membership not the patch.

from 30.000 Spiderbox people..only 300 - 500 are them who did not finished 12 months and that is for wrong info of their dealers who sold them..
From what i know from main source is not been any promises from Mars 2011.
