Cheers, Normally stuff costs roughly the same to the UK and Ireland. Depends on the carrier used I suppose.

it depends on the hdd
they fall asleep after 5 minutes of not using it

Yep, I'm still waiting should get it soon I hope.
I ordered mine on the 27th of June.

can some one tell us if it works ok or not ? i mean while the hdd is recording does the box frezee ? etc is there still issues with the interface

Flashed the 1x ide.img uploaded by biglew5k99
run the /sbin/init_hdd.sh script everything went smoothly
rebooted then in recording settings set
recording device= direct (file)
Then in "direct recording settings" set
recording directory= /hdd
max. file size (mb)=4096
write synchronous (O_sync)=on
write synchronous (fdatasync)=on
Left all all settings to default.
Recorded 2 hours continously also changed to a channel on the same transponder while recording.
played back pefectly no stutters or lip sync issue's.

It did get a bit hot in there was thinking of fitting a fan in there also
but then there might be a noise issue plus there is not much room left in there with the hdd inside.
So because the leads are long enough i might try to fit the hdd to a removable holder on the outside of the box to keep everything nice a cool.

Thanks to biglew5k99 for uploading the ide image and the easy to use script.

There are a couple of issue's i have
If you dont switch the hdd on at the mains and then power up the box it either hangs on loading kernel
or say after 5 minutes get passed this stage and boots up.
Then only way the box will boot up normaly is to switch both on then after the box has fully booted up switch the hdd of at the mains.
The other thing is if you are not using the hdd for recording
it does not seem to fall asleep after 5 minutes.
Apart from that it works spot on.:Clap: :Clap:

Hi all,
Is anyone on this forum (a image maker maybe) working on a UK 2x IDE image?
I was kicked from an 'images site' ages back when I was new to the world of Dboxes
Wanna be prepped for the IDE addon I have coming to me in the next week or so.

Anyone else waiting on their Dbox2 IDE kit? I placed my order on 27-06 and still no sign. Think it was meant to be shipped (I asked on another forum but they have removed their dbox section) but the dudes site hasn't updated with a shipping date.

I think he just got to many orders and was let down by the company manufacturing the HDD Holders.
Then he had Issues with the Firmware for the IDE Interface and his Programmer died too

He sold over 1000 Units so for a little company the logistics are a bit diffcult.

the demand was/is just to big for him to ship them out in a fast manner
