you cold also try taking the lid off the receiver and reseating the SIM card in it's slot after cleaning the SIM and contacts.
If the SIM card is loose or not properly seated it can cause issues like this. Sometimes the SIM holder breaks and the SIM doesnt have contacts with the pins in the holder yuo can use a bit of blue tack to keep the SIM down so it makes contact with the Pins.
