HiFi that records to mp3

Hi guys!

I need help find some device that records voice (good quality) to mp3 or CD plus if it can add echo that would be great.

Its for my dads birthday, he used to record his recitations to tape. His lost most of the tapes now and I thought I could find something that's more up to date and with better quality of audio.

I know there plenty of software that can achieve this but my dad aint got a clue with computers so I thought i would set him up with something simple like a cassette recorder lol.

A small digital dictophone maybe the best thing, like the ones from olympus. Although I'm not sure what format they record in.

Most android and iphones can record voice etc...
