check this out guys and tell me what u think. i am looking to buy a new car and was just browsing on ebay and i cam accross a cheap bmw, i emailed the seller and look at what he responded.

Hi there!

The car will be shipped from Milan, Italy, where I'm located, and for this
inconvenience I will manage the shipping of the car to your shipping address at
no cost for you. You will pay only the price that is stated in the eBay
listing, £5500.

The BMW was bought from UK and I didn't had time to register the car here...
this mean that this is a UK car, with UK specs and is still registered in UK.
Anyway, if I want to register this car here is a little complicated because the
BMW is a RHD and I need a LHD here.

As payment method I only accept:

a) - useing Square Trade as a third party
b) - bank wire transfer

a) I'm affiliated at eBay Square Trade and I have a purchase protection account
for USD $20,000. In case we have a deal, this is how Square Trade will protect
both of us: if you will not receive the car as I described to you, although
this is not the case, Square Trade will refund you with 100% from the whole
amount which you paid me. Even in case that you will not receive the car, they
will refund you the money back. Anyway, I won't be able to pick up the until
you will receive and inspect the car. If you like the car and want to keep it,
all you have to do is to inform Square Trade that everything is O.K. and they
will let me know the payment details so I can pick up the money.

If you decide to use this method I need the next informations from you:
1 - full name (first name, second name)
2 - full shipping address (street, city, state, zip, country)
3 - eBay user ID

I need your details in order for me to contac Square Trade to start the deal.
They will manage in my place the financial details.

b) If you choose to pay through bank (wire transfer) I need the next
informations:
1 - full name (first name, second name)
2 - full shipping address (street, city, state, zip, country)
3 - contact phone number (including country and city code)
4 - fax number (if applicable)

Once I received the info, I will let you know all the details that you need to
make the payment.

Ths shipping of the car will be started as soon as the payment is confirmed and
it will take about 3 weeks.

If you have any questions, feel free to let me know.

Thank you and best regards, Mark

im quite sure i read about this kinda thing before. could some tell me whether this guys really tring to scam me.

i dont wanna loose out on a heavy deal..

ps. i responded to him by saying that i will personally drive to milan and give him cash and drive the car back to the uk.. c what he says..

hes a quick little bugger

he replied

In this case you will have to pay for the shiping, and believe me that is more
than you will have to pay for the car... I want to ship the car because I know
some peoples and I wont pay to much... for it... but if you want to do this...
be my guest.
Regards!

im stringing him along.

he thinks hes cleva. i have a lot of spare time on my hand at work.

this will be interesting. hehehe

yep there is no way i would enter into the deal but it would fun to keep it going to try to uncover the scam lol , the SquareTrade has quite a few pitfalls from what i have read and you can get a 30 day trial as well so i would take that with a pich of salt .
the item may not even be covered for the reason below..

The SquareTrade Member Profile Page indicates the maximum SquareTrade buyer protection that you MAY be eligible for a specific transaction. If the Member Profile Page does NOT show any SquareTrade Buyer Protection level for the transaction that you were involved in, then you are NOT covered by SquareTrade's Buyer Protection Program for that transaction

hes not willing to negotiate, i am offering to collect the car myself from milan but he says i after to follow his terms and conditions, and after a long arguement with the guy i said ok.

he insists i pay via bank transfer and is saying its safe, yeh right mate

How can I cheat you with a bank transfer? As far as I know people get riped via
Western Union... but ... anyway...

Let me know if you are willing to go ahead with the deal or not...

i asked for his address he gave me one in china, and his bank details are of a china bank.

i keep asking for him to scan the v5 logbook and send me a copy but everytime i ask he seems to avoid the subject, and whats my name, address etc instead

lets see what happens...

ive asked for the log book about 5 times, he keeps changing the subject.

this time i made it clear. i said as soon as you send me the copy of the log book, ull get your money.

ive also asked for the name address and telephone number of the shipping company.

noob emailed me saying it seems like you dont trust me. obviously mate.

is there anyway of making him think that ive paid him via wire transfer. or sqaure trade. im think about making a dud reciept and sending to him, showing him ive transferred the money over to his account.

ive got some hsbc letter heads lying around somewhere. lol

lol you may end up getting the car and scam him

lets hope so....

any one want a bmw 330 ci convertible 04? lol

SquareTrade is a 3rd Party Mediation Service

i didnt read all of his last email

About the shipping... Soon as I have the payment confirmation I will manage the shipping... and then let you know all the details that you need to track the car.

For the moment, all the car papers are in a safe place... and they will stay there until I will start the shipping of the car... You will receive them once with the car... I'm not comfortable to let you know such important imformations... with all the fraud on the internet... I don't want to have problems... Like you don't trust me... I don't trust you...

I hope that we can make the deal now...

Thank you for your time and best regards!

such important information, lol i only want the registration number. or a copy of the logbook. he wants my name address phone number bank details etc arent they important information.
