hi guys have got a escort p reg woundering if there any mechanics no or have heard of a car doing this.
When u put ur foot down on the excelrator the car pulls to the right and when u ease ur foot of it then pulls to the left. i have had some 1 look at it and told me that it could be the steering rack and someone else told me it could be the driveshaft. anyone have any ideas.thanks

Its neither of those mate !

Its the wishbones, (lower suspension arms). common ware item on these, had escorts for 6 yrs lol:proud:

you want one each of these http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/c/escort_suspension_253/

if it isnt that will be the first time those symptoms are something else lol

should change them in pairs m8, then get tracking done :) make sure u fit them right as well.... e.g. tightening sequence and torque.

cant type full guide, only one arm atm. neorage might pop in and help :)

as rs said..

deffo wish bones.. espically with excessive wear...

belive you me me and rs have had enough escorts in our time to know (cost a fortune as well ;) )

its a bit of a fiddle on the escort as you need to put the wishbones on torque e up.

lower the car back to ground level and then lossen em up and re torque em..

once thats done get the tracking done and you should be good..

if that dosent work (80%) chance will likly be your gearbox mount gone..

thanks for all that info guys had the wishbone and trcking done today the swerving has stopped
thanks again..........

No worries mate :) told ya :p lol !

Might wanna get the ARB drop links checked as well now, they tend to go just after the wishbones.... (anti roll bar = ARB) ..... if you put wheels on full lock, either way.. dont matter... then look into the wheel arch behind the wheel you will see a straight bar bolted to the shock and to the roll bar... thats them :)

the gold bar as seen in this pic mate
