Ford cd player code

I've never had a need to find a missing code for a car stereo... until now...
I know you can get the lock codes from the net but have no idea how you do it? Having a quick look it seems I need certain numbers? What numbers do I need if I remove the CD player, will it just be a serial number on the back?

Then, how do i get the lock code worked out without cost?

Any general help will do as I have no idea and looking to not get ripped off.

you need serial number that starts m/v if it's m code it's free but if it's v code you will have to pay some one

ok thanks for advice. I will borrow the removal tool then find out. So if its a v code serial do I have to go to Ford, or do other companies hold the details?
