Hi all.
I have a spare 120 modem but read somewhere about not connecting it until it has the anti update mod, to stop it updating the firmware. Where can I d/l? I have searched but can not find. Thanks for your help.

FFS 1st post and your ASKING THIS, have respect and introduce yourself as a newbie, u have to build your points abit also, you could be any1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you dont connect it to the live cable feed and connect though the hyper termal or what ever it is i think you issue these commands

Ambit 200 (using 120/100 mac) users should at the prompt: (copy & paste)
cd non-vol\snmp
max_dload_tries 0
write
cd \
reset

Ambit 200 (NOT upgraded yet) users should paste the following with NO cable feed and directly after the modem begins to scanning: (make sure you hit return at reset)

cd non-vol\snmp
max_dload_tries 0
write
cd \
reset
This will prevent the new firmware and allow for the user to change the mac, although this is a very very crude method but should be ok for the short-term.

^not my work

Sorry L33tpl4y4 for my first post :Jester:
I am a boon:)
I have been dabbling with cable tv and was now going to try and dabble with modems.

Meeh...Would that instruction work with the Ambit120 as you said its for the Ambit200?

Thanks for you help.

Ok no problem, sorry for sounding abit hash, theres nothing stoping you to do so now, just to we get to know you, did you get it sorted?

I have heard it wont work on the 100 120, so it would be risky to try!!!!

Not tried yet, not got involved yet...wanted to know first before I get one those R323 things, or whatever they are, that I can clone using Abit 120 :D
