Hello all,
Read all the config file but i still cant get to grips with it.
If i have a card say to share do i create an F line for the user and they create a C line for me or is it the other way round or do i just have a C line for them and they send me there C line for there card.
Really stuck
Thanks.

F: is for friends which you create on YOUR box so you friend can connect with a C: line on his box. This is probably the best tutorial in plain english, on how to setup F: & C: lines:

################################################## ####################
# friends #
################################################## ####################
# syntax for to add a friend user to CCcam with the max up hops limit
# sharing of emus (default = 1), allow emm (default = 1), and optional
# downshare limits per share (default = no limits) and optional
# downshare limits per share based on caid:id:sid
# emus are shared only one level down, even if no limits given
#
#F: <username> <password> <uphops> <shareemus> <allowemm> ( { caid:id:)downhops), caid:id:)downhops), ... } { caid:id:sid, caid:id:sid, ... }
#
# example:
#
# F: user1 pass1 10
#
# user1 gets all our shares at max 10 hops from us
# (our local cards + max ten hops away). He can share down to his own
# clients. He also receives emu shares (if he has 'yes' behind his C: entry),
# and is allowed to send us emm.
#
# F: user2 pass2 0 1 0 { 0100:000080, 0622:000000:1, 0500:000000:2 }
#
# user2 gets only our local cards but no 0100:000080.
# and our 0622:000000 cards only for himself (1 hop down),
# and 0500 cards for himself plus one additional hop down.
# He also gets our emus, and is NOT allowed to send us emm (updates).
#
# F: user3 pass3 5 0 1 { 0:0:3, 0100:000080:1 }
#
# user3 gets all cards at a maximum of 5 hops away from us,
# and get's to share them down two further levels beyond his own level.
# But he is not allowed to share 0100:000080 down to other users.
# He gets no emus from us, and he is allowed to send us emm.
#
# F: user4 pass4 5 0 1 { 0:0:3, 0100:000080:1 } { 0100:000080:15df }
#
# user4 gets all cards at a maximum of 5 hops away from us,
# and get's to share them down two further levels beyond his own level.
# But he is not allowed to share 0100:000080 down to other users.
# He gets no emus from us, and he is allowed to send us emm.
# He is also not allowed to view channel 0100:000080:15df

################################################## ####################

################################################## ####################
# syntax for to add a client connection to other CCcam
# add yes on end to use friends emus (non public private key/emu,etc...),
# but only works when corresponding F line on server has '1' for <shareemus>
# optional limits just like F line, but for incoming shares (ignore shares more than 'uphops' away)
#
#C: <hostname> <port> <username> <password> <wantemus> ( { caid:id:)uphops), caid:id:)uphops), ... } )
#
# example:
#
# C: someserver.somedomain 12000 user1 pass1
# C: 192.168.1.2 12000 user2 pass2
# connects to CCcam without use of friends emus
#
# C: 192.168.1.2 12000 user3 pass3 yes
# connects to CCcam, and receives friends emus also.

# syntax for to add newcamd server connection
#
#N: <ip> <port> <username> <pass> <des(14byte)> <nr_of_hops_away (default: 1)> <stealth mode (default: 0)>
#
# example:
#
# N: 127.0.0.1 10000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
#
# add a newcamd card, give it an offset of 2 hops, in the share list
#
# N: 127.0.0.1 10000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 2
#
# stealthy login on newcamd server:
#
# N: 127.0.0.1 10000 dummy dummy 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14 1 1
#
# stealth modes: 0 = disabled, 1 = mgcamd new, 2 = mgcamd old, 3 = evocamd, 4 = generic

Thanks for reply equalizer.
I understand now about the actual f line and c line what the hops etc mean. But what i dont understand is do i create both for the client then said him the c line part i have created for him for his box. Then he does the same on his sending me the c line of his.
Thanks

ok say you have a premiere card and he has a xxxxxx card then

YOU would create a f: line sharing your premiere card and give you m8 a c:line to connect to your reciever to share your card.

Then your m8 would create a f: line to share his xxxxxx card and give you a c: line for his reciever.

IF YOU only have a card then YOU create a f: line for YOUR reciever only.
Then give your m8 a C: line to connect to your reciever.

Thanks.
I thought it was that but got a post saying add this f line and c line but obviously they were just confirming what they had put there end.
I havent tried my cards in the dm yet do i just put them in the dm and they work or do i need to configure in some way ( got digit--b and c+ sp)
Thanks again

Sorry if this is a dumb question but could I cardshare my Dm500S and Dm600C on my home network?

Sure, you can.
If only one box is acting as a c@rdserver then this will need f:lines for every client box it supports. Each client box will need to have a corresponding C:line.
This is the easiest setup.

I haven't tried this, but if you have multiple local cards, and put these in your different boxes and wanted to cross share, i would imagine you would need to set up a 2 way share between each box.
In this scenario, i think you would also need allocate different server listen ports to each box (and forward these on your router).
I would imagine you would also need to allocate different webinfo and telnet server listen ports to each machine, or these would conflict on your home network

Good luck.

I do not have any cards to share but I would like to access DM500s and all its channels via the Dm600 whenever the urge takes me.

Well theoretically you could probably stream from one box to another over your network, but you don't want to go there mate.
You'd be better off buying a transmitter if you want to watch tv in another room
You would be far better off providing each box with its own satellite feed, and if you obtain cards in the future, follow the instructions we have discussed.

Have i got this right?

Create a F line in config file.

Send this to other person who uses it as their C line

He makes an F and send it to me

I use his F line as my C line and put it in config

Also if i create and F line F: etc etc, when sending to other person do i just change the F: to a C: or do i sent him it as F:etc etc?

M8 this is what you do

Make a c-line with your dns the port and tagg on the end of it a user name a password for ya m8.

Like this

C: ice2004.dyndns.org 12000 mymate password no { 0:0:2 }SEND TO YOUR M8

The F line you make to put ONYOUR Dreambox is made from the user and password you gave your m8 in the c-line you sent him.

Like this

F: mymate password 2 0 0 { 0:0:2 }

Then your m8 would send you a c-line to put in your config and he would make a f-line for his config form the user and pass he gave to you in his c-line.

Thats it

All the above lines are in no way real and given to explain the process.

thanks
Ferret

I do not have a local card and I do not run a server but people who give me their clines, do they get any benefits from my dreambox? Do they get keys from my box for channels which are open on my or is this just a one way traffic?
