Ext HD Prob

Knocked me brand new Western Digital 1 TB USB ext HD off the table while connected to pc, it landed on the floor, and the case opened upchucking the HD out. I put it back together and it worked albeit slowly. I plugged it in again about 5 times and it still worked ......just but now its given up the ghost altogether any ideas please

can you see the disk but not read it or does the pc not find it at all?

if your lucky you may have not plugged it back together properly. if not and you've dinked the heads onto the platter that can take a while to fail.

if its new and you can't see the damage take it back

Thanks for the reply, just read Dibbers post in gen topics exactly the same as mine, as for takin it back you can see the damaged corner were it landed.
