Everlasting Ink

My epson 580 "ran out" of ink 2 weeks ago. As i still had black ink left i thought i'd reload the empty colour cartridge, so i could at least print in b&w. Since the i've printed 8 dvd covers, 4 cds, various letters and web pages all in colour. Does this mean i have previously been throwing away good cartridges? has anyone else tried this. Is my printer giving wrong readings,or is it a ploy to get us to replace ink when we dont have too! <img src="eek.gif" border="0">

yes it does m8 i have the same printer and i always recharge it and only throw it away when the ink is visibly running out

I have the Epson 760 m8 and its the same with that, <br />I think they do it so if your doing some good Quality photo, it would not run out half way though. <br />Like you said i just recharge it and get a few more prints out of it.<br />But it is a pain when you do get half way though trying to get that bit more out of it and it goes all together <img src="frown.gif" border="0">

there is a wee program you can use with epson printers.

3) Reset internal ink counters even with empty cartridges.

6) Resetting of protection counter (even when it is already full).
7) More then 60 different Epson printers supported

This allow many people with high printing demands to save some money (program works with both black and color cartridges).

Up to day this software works under Windows 95/98/ME/2K2/XP with both the LPT and USB printers.
