drink drive ban

aybnone who is banned for drink driving in grimsby goes straight into our local newspaper so it cetainly is not an offence to give out this info.

it goes into the paper because there is usually a reporter who sits in court all day and records these things for the local newspapers. this is how it is in scotland anyway.

that is very different from someone contacting the court, say 2-3 months after sentencing, and the courts giving out this info to anyone

Exactly!!!

you can get your own, or anybody elses (with their written permission) criminal background checks from disclosure in scotland for £20 for a basic check, this will disclose things such as drink driving, assult, being a danger to minors/elders/vulnerable and other serious offences that could indicate you may be a danger to be entrusted to work with the public

i had to get one 6 months ago, and im clear :proud:

yes, but you can only apply for a basic disclosure which only gives you a list of unspent convictions. most serious driving offence convictions will become spent in 5 years after the conviction. so there is no guarantees that it would show up. you would need a standard disclosure, which shows both spent and unspent convictions. but an indivdual can not apply for one, only employers can, with the persons written permission.
