downloaded apps not showing

i have just rooted my samsung galaxy and then installed lagfix, but now a few of my apps including Apps installer just force close and a couple of apps i have just downloaded from android market say they have downloaded and installed ok but do not show up anywhere?
anyone any ideas?
i am uninstalling the lagfix as i type this to see if it helps any
