Is it normal to have different signal strengths on different channels? For eg, I get 62000 SNR and 10 BER on BBC1, ABC1, Racing UK and others but only get 56000 SNR and very high BER on channels like Sky Sports 1 & 2 and movie channels plus others.
I am aware that the dreambox is notorious for low signal problems but I seem to have a different signal stregnths on different channels. Is this normal? If I boost the signal to help low signal channels will it make the signal on the stronger channels too strong? How high should you go to on SNR?
I have a SLX1 which I am wondering if it is faulty as it reduces signal to about 42000 SNR. I have tried an 3.5db attenuator which also reduces signal to about 46000 SNR. Is it possible the the box has a faulty tuner? This problem does seem to be intermittent.
