cordless phones abroad

i was wondering i am going india in jan.and want to take a cordless phone as a gift.will it work over there

Well the radio transmitter would still send and recieve but I don't know if they use the same phone sockets in India.

Might not even be legal to use in India - you may want to check that before you go.

I think they use the ISM band.

They're probably cheaper over there anyway - butlike Witchy said, I'm sure the sockets will be different.
