06 July 2012 - closure of "Pub Channel" fubars bottom end of bouquets and some movie channels revert to 'English AC3' or 'NAR' audio after AutoBouquets has been run

If you have NOT customized your /var/bin/autoscan_stop script - simply FTP the attached update.zip eazy-installer to the/var/etc folder 'AS-IS'. please.

Reboot your box from the Main Menu, and both issues are now fixed. Please continue to read the Before you next run AutoBouquets section lower down!

If you HAVE modified your bouquets ordering in that script, our update fix will undo your work. So you'll probably want to edit the fixes in manually. Here's what to do:

/var/bin/autoscan_start --- add the new red line #13 after the existing line:

bouquets=/tmp/currentbouquets.xml
cp -f /var/tuxbox/config/zapit/audio.pid /tmp

/var/bin/autoscan_stop -- replace this line #125:

retln "Pub Channel"; bq13=$ln
with this one:
retln "Renault TV"; bq13=$ln

LraiZer reckons that fundamental changes like this to the first channel in each BskyB stream bouquet will be as rare as rocking horse shit, so this shouldn't be a regular exercise.

finally, further down in the same script, at around line #189, insert the new line in red between existing:

rm -f /tmp/*.xml
mv -f /tmp/audio.pid $sbpath
pzapit -c


Before you next run AutoBouquets

Zap through all your Sly Movies one by one from start to finish, pressing the GREEN button on each. Check the Audio is English and make it so, if it's on (AC3) or NAR. Press OK and make sure you have sound. If not, hit the green button again and select English again. Sound normally works on the second try- press OK and UP arrow to the next channel and repeat the sequence.

When finished, zap to channel 1 and reboot from the Main Menu to set your changes into stone. The next time you run AutoBouquets, it will use YOUR audio.pid file, and not the crap one generated from the stream.

Two days tearing my hair out Monday and Tuesday trying to pinpoint the cause of the audio issues and how to fix it, then run it past LraiZer to see if it worked for him, then into Ubuntu to create the update.zip (as the installer script that is untarred to /tmp HAS to be 755 which can't be done from Windoze), then an hour writing the release post over 'there' and finally, another 10-15 mins copy 'n paste 'n upload to here and D-K.

But I love it, and it's my hobby. And if all that resulted in a simple 10 second user fix, then I regard it as a good exercise. And we held off on releasing the audio fix until what LraiZer knew what was going to happen with the 'Pub Channel' DID happen overnight, hence the 2in1 fix. A bit like a Tesco BOGOF, LOL!

Hang on a tick, 10 seconds to apply this fix? You're having a larf! You must have skipped past the final Before you next run AutoBouquets destructions, which takes me at LEAST 10 minutes (but it's a one-time job).

If you don't prepare your own cast iron audio.pid setup and as advised in this last section of post #1 above, then AutoBouquets will still be using the last crappy one as it's backup, surely? It's 10 mins well spent, trust me. Will save you day after day of frustration.

And based on daily monitoring of BskyB changes since 14.6 two mere weeks ago, we really do highly recommend running AutoBouquets on an auto timer DAILY task, at a time that suits you. Doesn't SgtFlipFlop and DMUK update their stuff daily, or only some time after a change (or changes) have been spotted?

only. few of the movie channels needed changing before rebooting 10 seconds might of been over the top but didn't take long

working great but no adult chanel bouquet showing in bouquets is there a fix for this

dont hold me to this lm at work and not in front of a box ,, blue button then bouquet wizard then red(or scroll to bottom of menu)? then scroll down till u find porn ( sick O ) then press ok and hide will go off , then exit back all the way out and blue button again and update bouquet

Adult bouquets are set to hidded and locked by default.

manualy show hidden/locked Adult bouquet:

Main Menu > Services > Bouquet Editor
scroll down to Adult bouquet
press menu button to toggle through the "rename/hide/lock" options for this bouquet
press blue button to change this bouquet to unhide and unlock selected options
press exit and save changes
Adult bouquet is now showing and unlocked


using Autobouquet to show Adult bouquet:

blue > blue > yellow > Auto Bouqets Wizard > Auto Bouquet Selection
scroll to Adult bouquet and set to show
exit and run "Create AutoBouquet NOW!"
