Hi all
My XP clock seems to lose time over the day, probably about 15mins per day) and sometimes when I switch computer off then on the clock has reset itself to 1/1/2002.
Is this the battery or another problem?

Thanks

NICE ONE PEOPLE CHEERS
ANOTHER PROBLEM..............
I've got another computer tht keeps on shutting down for no reason at all. I used to think it was when I was using powerful programs like Premier or Poser but it does it even if I just move the mouse sometimes or do absolutely nothing.
Any ideas???

Hardware:-

- Could be lack of power (power supply). If you're running old socket A Athlon cpu they require 300w-350W + psu's.

- It could be heat related. Check the cpu fan if its seated properly

- could be a conflict or a faulty pci card (try taking all cards out - just leave your graphics card and see if that cures it)

Software:-

could be many things?

When did this restart problem appeared?

- try system restore
- it could be a virus / one of the hardware drivers causing this

Its a generic problem – hard to narrow down the possibilities. I’ve listed a few for you to try….

Power Supply + PCI cards. Ti could be I'll need to check that out.
Got system + cpu fan

Sorftware I did a complete re-install of xp with no programs added and it still did it.

I'm going on my hols this week so I'll check this thread when I get back
thanks everyone
