Firmware Cisco e4200

Hi guys I have bt infinity and a home hub 5 at home which works fine. I am trying to bridge a Cisco e4200 which is running ddwrt mega build so I can route through a vpn. When I try to connect to the router it tells me the dns is not responding and won't connect. It was working fine when I ran tomato on it but got very slow download speeds when using private internet access vpn on it which is why I would like to try ddwrt

Yeah I tried it but now all I get is a white light and not ttl response at all. I think it needs a jtag but wouldn't know where to start. I have searched through the forums to try to find out what type of jtag I need or even if I can make one myself but I can't find anything. I have an idea what to do its just getting the jtag in the first place
