chipped ps2 trouble

hi guys i have a ps2 which has been modded the problem is that lately when i play back ups on it they keep jumpin and sticking but it plays the originals perfect is there a fault with the chip or could it be a laser thing ...its the slim model ps2 and its about 20 mths old...any help appriciated thanx

hi m8 ..make sure you backups are clean and copied on a low speed .keep to qualtiy media if poss

if it was worked ok in the past with the chip fitted it sounds like the laser has deteriorated slightly. If its spoiling the fun replace the laser. If you decide to replace the laser you could try adjusting the power to it slightly, you may get some more life out of it.
