Hi guys not very good with things like this, i have a broadband conection with telewest (vm) i also have another modem that i had a few years ago is there anyway of been able to change the mac address of the old modem so its the same as the new one????so i then can plug in both modems, anyone please help...Cheers:banana:

You may get more response in the modem room m8.

You can't have both modems on the same mac as they will conflict.
You will be able to change the mac of the old one, but will have to flash new firmware to it first.
You will then also be able to force a faster config too.
There are tuts in modem downloads.

Eyup m8 i dont really understand tht at all, sorry to seem dumb but with things like this am crap. Johny

if you put the same MAC on both modems and have them on together they clash and conflict causeing no internet on either.

With some modems you can put a custom firmware on them. this unlocks some features for you. The main on is manual mac changing and also changing the config file ( determines your internet speed)
