Think carpets nice and warm, but wood is cleaner.
It would have to be carpet for me

defo carpets upstairs :) Then when you get out of the shower you only go Ass Over Tit once :) Instead of falling on the tiles in the bathroom then breaking your neck in the bedroom :)

But wood is so much easier to clean, prob with carpet is they spill all their war paint all over :)
and it never cleans back up properly.

It's definitely carpet!! You get better grip with high heels on carpet than on laminate wood or tiles!!

Also you dont need to warn the neighbours about the CLOG dancing competition going on in the bedrooms.

See The Fosdyke Sagas and all will become clear

I prefer carpet for upstairs. Old house had all wood floors and was horrible in the winter. It was a very cold house during the winter though to be fair!

wooden flooring isnt as great as it is made out to be, if you consider wooden flooring go for tiles instead, look much better, and with appripriate insulation can prevent cold floors

Bet it was nice in the summer though ;)

Speaking of whish I hope we keep the weather we've had today for a while as it's been SCORTCHIO today :) (Although something tells me it will probably be snowing tonight! lol)

:)

Carpet for me, I can stand that fake wood crap!

Real Wood in a lounge and dining room, yes....but a bedroom no!

got to agree, carpet in the bedrooms, nice bit of real wood in the lounge/diner

I was a laminate/wooden floor specialist for 5 years, so I'm slightly biased! the only place I've got carpet is the stairs, everywhere else is either laminate or ceramic tiles. It is definitely colder on the feet in the morning, but that helps to wake you up! I dont wear shoes or socks around the house, even in winter, so it's not unbearably cold. you can even get under-floor heating for laminate/wood/ceramic. I would recommend quickstep laminate to anyone, it's great stuff, strong and easy to fit, looks fantastic too!
