Mobile Phones Can it be Traced?

if i put my data on, on my mobile and use it as a wifi hotspot and someone users there ipod touch to connect to the internet and set up a email and apple id account can it be traced?

yes i am sure the ip can be traced back to the line holder
unless its a pay as you go chip

Your IP address that your phone got from your carrier will be logged.

And I thing payg need to be activated these days ?

There is always a link somewhere along the line where they can trace. They log IMEI numbers and can find the last sim card which was used. Interrogate calls/messages sent/received. There will be a link somewhere. If bank card used for top up? check where vouchers were purchased and review CCTV.

That is how they caught one of the July bombers when he fled to Italy. He had a new PAYG sim but used the same phone.
