can freesat tuner be put in any tv??

hey there

been looking high and low for a tv the 22-24" with freesat built-in but cant find any which is a bummer.

anyways I was wondering If i bought a tv with freeview would it be possible to change tuner to freesat?

I cant recieved signals for freeview hence why I need freesat.

Whilst the terrestrial tuner/demodulator is fairly similar to a cable tuner/demodulator the satellite version is very different indeed - a whole new set of tuning ranges as well as various control parameters would require a substantially different firmware.

It would be much simpler to just get a standard TV and connect a Freesat digibox to it. You'd probably get far better functionality as well, maybe even HDD/PVR type functions if you buy a reasonable digibox.
