I've just moved into a new place and a cable modem has been left here. It's still connected to the internet and works fine.

Question is, if I change it for a wireless cable router, do I need to know the login details? Or should it just work?

If not, I have an ADSL wireless router that was left here. It's a D-Link. I've had it working as a wired switch but I can't get it to work wirelessy. Any ideas?

Just checked the DNS and the connection is with NTL.

You dont need to log in with cable Kris. Just set up the wireless router and away you go.

You will still need your modem though, unless you get a wireless modem router (I think you can get them). I just connect my router to the modem.

just plug the cable modem straight into a cable router and you should be ok :)

Will a ADSL router work with cable thought it had to be DSL...could be wrong lol.

It's working great as a wired switch with the cable modem. ADSL modem part of it not being used :Biggrin2:
