yes you should, as you might start getting disk read errors etc, I got mine from ebuyer, they had around 200 odd in stock, next day delivery

any way took it home and the external drive i had was ide
but i bought one of these USB 2.0 TO SATA / IDE CABLE FOR HDD W/ POWER ADAPTER UK | eBay ages ago which i use the molexfor the usb pro
and it works fine.
