Hiya ppl heres a good one for all the experts out there amongst us...Nokia dbox2 intelx2 in debug mode, the box had been playing up sometimes hanging up,kein system etc etc so using IFA flashed new sportster across, all went well plugged it into my portable tv in the bedroom (no cable feed ) and box started up as expected, obtained the network addy and using flashfxp transferred across my services/cables files, restarted box and once agin everything seemed fine everything where it should be etc...now the good bit lol unplugged box and connected it up to the main tv in the living room connected up cable feed etc and switched on,first the box got no further than kein system on front lcd and when i done a reset (power/up arrow) now all i get is a blank lcd. There is definately power going to the box as the light still shows behind the lcd but nothing appears on the lcd panel?... i have tried reflashing the box with both the next gen and zogre images and get the same results everytime...anyone seen this b4 or have any ideas why i am getting a blank lcd and box refuses to boot? any help greatly appreciated cheers

if your main feed is downstairs and you have a longer connection upstairs then surely this will have something to do with the power of your signal. perhaps the boxs couldnt handle the sig rate on the lower level feed cause it was to high. attenuator or equalizer would be the questions i would be asking. my guess would be to get a 8db equalizer switch. reflash the box blah blah blah and try rebooting.l

I don't know if this will be of any use to you but I had a nokia 2x Intel box and the box wouldn't wake up until you held the power/up arrow buttons in the lcd would dim slightly then at that moment you would have to release the two buttons and the boot screen on the lcd would come on and it worked till you turned it off at the mains and turned it back on again then the stress started again and you had to go through the above sequence all over again. P.S the timeing was crucial in releaseing the buttons you had to be fast for it to work.

Thanx for the replies folks...@wenglishboy there is no cable feed connected until i actually try the box,its not the coaxial/splitter/attentuator etc etc but thanx for the reply anyway....@mgb havin a few probs with ifa right now it flashes the box ok altho for some reason it will only work if i use the german version,b also appears to go thru a different process on the lcd than i remember it seems to flash twice or summit it looks like it is erasing backup and then flashing image also bit unsure how to create a bootlog? when the flash process completes i get a wee row of smiley faces on dbox lcd and the word furtig(or something similarly german sounding! lol) but doesnt appear to let me right click copy and paste the text in the com window,....@dtwomac thanx ill give that a try as well altho bit dubious as i have tried resetting using the power and up arrow a few times but hey what have i got to lose, the box doesnt wanna behave itself as it is anyway lol...any more suggestions gratefully received many thanx folks

K any bootlog experts in the house? lol when i start IFA i dont get flashing on the lcd i get something like helenberg image flashing assistant and thats it no flashing/flashing done this is the bootlog for my last attempt which as you will have gathered was again unsuccessful lol had to unplug the box twice b4 IFA started dont know if this shows in the bootlog or not, anyway same problems as originally posted..i can get the image across and then ftp my services etc and when i switch box on all appears fine until i switch box off and connect it up to different tv and the cable feed then all i get is a blank lcd anyway anyone familiar with bootlogs who can decipher any problems please get in touch any help much appreciated

You got timeing problems. The last command was not transfered to the box. Try it again or choose flashing without nullmodem.

thanx for the reply mgb...tried without the nullmodem with no joy however changed my duplex speed to 10 full bit instead of half bit and this let me flash minus the null modem cable...used flash fxp and transferred over my services/bouquets etc and everything went as expected however i am now convinced it is something loose/damaged inside the actual box as again when i connected it up to the cable feed i got nothing but when i removed one of the scart leads(video) the box kicked into life however on power off and restart i got kein system and then a blank lcd again unconnected everything again and switched dbox back on connected up to nothing and again nothing happens however lmao when u give the box a shake it starts to boot up(yes i know shake? but hey its startin to annoy me and deserved a shake! lol) tried every combination and helpful suggestions from forum members now and im now 99% sure its a hardware problem as amazing as it would seem for all the problems im having i have actually done a box from scratch and got it working in my house lol anyway like to thank everyone for all there help...keep up the good work folks continue to make this forum the pace to be

1, unplug your box
2, connect pc and box with a null modem cable
3, start plain bootmanager
4, disable all options except com 9600
5, click on start
6, plugin your box
7, you will get a bootlog inside the com-terminal
8, right click on com-terminal and save
9, in your posting right click and paste

hi again mgb thanx for the reply done as you said and connected up with null modem cable disabled all option except com9600..below is my bootlog from bootmanager if you get a chance appreciate you having a look to see if anything jumps out at you, cheers

The filesystem on the box is damaged.
Do a reflash. Maybe you should try a other image.

thanx for the reply mgb..in your opinion is this problem hardware or software related? i think im running out of images to try lol...also ive got a working box which i clearly remember when i flashes withIFA said flashing/flashing done on the lcd this box simply gives me the halenberg image flashing assistant in the lcd, altho in the com window it tells me flashing done...anyway regardles of whether i sort this box out 0or not many thanx for all your help i have added to your rep already a you are by far much more knowledgeable than me on this subject, chers buddy

Try the newest german IFA version and use flashing with nullmodem.
That version compare the image in the flash after flashing with the original image. If something is wrong with the flash chips, you get a error message.

Don't shake the box m8 sheez ... use the universal fixer ... a hammer

:Jester: lol ... only jokin ...

I have a box doing something similar. When unplugged from the mains, when the lead is put back in it can cause a Kein System.
The strange thing is ... if I shut down the box before unplugging the mains, this doesn't seem to happen on the next power on ??? Not too bothered tho.

I am having the same problem ie. lcd blank (backlight on) box wont boot tried ifa wont reflash cause box is not even starting up,tried shakin box and came on ok, when its booted up works no probs had it working for about 4 weeks no prob,,the other day had to unplug box now cant get it to even start to boot allthough lcd backlight is still on so its getting power, can anyone point me to the area of the main board were the first boot up is so i can try a bit of re-soldering (hopefully just a dry joint) as a bit of a shake as worked about 4 or 5 times seems to be hardware related.
i would be gratefull for any advice cheers

Unplug your box, wait 30 minutes and try it again.
There is a known problem with some capacitors on nokias.

Tried everything m8 left off overnight,a few light taps,(wich did work before quite a few times) wobled caps on board case was bad conection but can not get it to boot up again.
Are bad elec caps the main prob and do you think it would be worth changing the ones near the tuner as i asume these are iomportant ones only cause the others seem mainly to do with power
Cheers
