Somebody's played the Brian May card. Quick.... run and hide.... don't look back, save yourselves! They'll be quoting the piano solo on Kim Appleby's Don't Worry next or the synh bass on the Johnny Hates Jazz back catalogue.
Guys Great thread and have to say Freebird is an absolute classic and right up there.
One of my favourite songs is Through teh Fire and Flames by Dragonforce. Love the song but from about 3 mins in tehre is a guitar play off, love the way he just sups his beer then bangs out a great rift
Also from my point of view one of the greatest people every to pick up a guitar was Gary Moore, far to many songs to choose from but at the the live shows (I went to quite a few) this was always a standout at that one note is worth paying the entrance fee alone (see sbout 2.52 mins in)
Iconic intro to this song.(especially if you remember the lucozade adverts with Daley Thompson all those years back)
My dad used to work for Steve Harris and I met the band at his house when I was around 13 which got me into the band and genre so Iron Maiden will remain one of my favourites and this song though not the best has as I say a great intro.
I do like all sorts of music but I mainly listen to Heavy Metal, Heavy Rock, Prog Rock however just as a guitar exercise this i believe is better than the Chuck Berry original
The guitar riff / solo really kicks in at 2m20s it makes me smile every time i listen, tbh i am not keen on any other Reggae tunes.
i also like, again not necessarily one you first think of but Lindsey Buckingham (he of Fleetwood Mac) lead on I'm so Afraid off the album The Dance is worth a listen (good drums and bass too)
