Yes any of the 3850 ro 3870 series of cards will be a massive improvement over your card, both in terms of speed and image quality.

As for getting one in AGP format, I personally would upgrade to PCI-express, you will see a massive improvement in speed over that P4 with a Core 2 Duo or quad.

As for HD content looking better I am not sure, I am not into that sort of thing to be honest.

Flipping heck mate, feel a littlle gutted for you.

The dreaded VIA chipsets, I fecking well hate them, only ever bought one for an Intel board and it was crap, I could not overclock my core 2 duo by even 0.1ghz, lol.

Msybe worth trying the above flash, other than that, how many drives are you running on IDE, because nearly all new boards only have one ide slot meaning you can only connected one DVD and one hard drive via IDE unless you buy an adapter.

No worries m8, these things happen.

Am running 2 HD's & 2 DVD drives off my IDE, so it looks like an adapter is in need
