CD & DVD .ape files

Has anyone come across music files with the extension .ape at all.
I've unzipped some d/loaded music and all the tracks have this .ape extension.

Any ideas folks...? Is there something I need to play these or even convert?

APE is Monkey Audio which is a slightly compressed audio format. I.E. Smaller than .wav files but still CD quality playback.

Cheers edds, got the converter now and all is fine thank you.

I see they are .wav files, now I need to see if I can convert them to go onto my ipod nano as it dont seem to accept these...!!!
