What is it i need to do on my laptop thats connected wirelessly so i can watch films that are on the hard drive on my alien box?

Yes you can go into menu/system/setup/network/network browser and do a scan of your local network.
From there choose your laptop and click ok on the next screen and your laptop should auto mount.
You should then be able to browse to your hdd.

Is it possible to stream from an Android phone in a similar way?
