Hi all,
If this package does indeed migrate to Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E then I'm not sure if this will necessarily mean better/stronger signal reception here in the UK... I have never really had a problem regarding signal strength/signal quality on the two frequencies on Eutelsat 33A at 33.0°E...
I do appreciate that my dish is slightly larger than the average dish size... but I have a feeling that this package is going to be much more difficult to receive (in the UK) from Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E than from it's current home on Eutelsat 33A at 33.0°E
The problem will arise due to the fact that this package will probably continue to use a DVB-S2 signal of either QPSK which they currently use... or they could even change to 8PSK which would then make it even more difficult to receive as a signal quality threshold would then need to be met before any pictures would appear on-screen...
e.g.
How many forum members (in the UK) are able to receive enough signal quality from the following ('Media Gates') frequency on Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E to achieve a successful signal lock...?

Hi again all,
I have just checked the two frequencies on Eutelsat 33A at 33.0°E... and there is now no signal from either of them... they were both still active yesterday...
I have also done a full Blind Search on Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E... and the channels are not showing up on there either...

It's dull and overcast one minute... then it's raining... then it's sunshine... then it's rain again... so I waited until my dish had completely dried out... no rain fade... and then I checked my Signal Strength/Signal Quality readings again... these are my results...

The frequency you mention is probably the strongest signal on Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E
The problem you have is that your dish is not big enough to receive the vast majority of the signals from this satellite... however... I believe that there may be one or two more frequencies that you could receive...
Did you do a 'Blind Search' of the satellite to try to find any channels/frequencies...? ...if you did then that may be why you haven't found anything else... the 'Blind Search' scanner is not working as good as it should do ...it is missing/not finding certain TP's on most satellites... I have highlighted this problem to 'Phantom' and to Technomate... but no proper fix has been forthcoming as yet...
If I were you... I would look at the Frequency chart for Eutelsat 3C at 3.1°E (link below) and try manually inserting the frequencies/symbol rates into the 'Advanced Search' menu... you might just be lucky and find a couple more channels/frequencies that way...
