250 Modem is it bricked?

Hi all,

I have got a 250 modem and I have done the following from the guides. I have plugged in a working serial cable into comm 1 of the pc. I have changed the ip addresses as mentioned to 192.168.100.10 and gateway to 192.168.100.1 Then I have loaded up the TFP thing with the file in.
After this I have gone to hyperterminal and followed all the commands change to comm1 do the rate etc. Then when I go into hyperterminal and turn power on, nothin happens. The modem lights come on but I do not see any writing or anything so cannot press p.
Is this a bricked modem or is there a way i can force flash it.

I think that ones bricked mate unless you want to lift the chip and reprogram it but i'm not an expert on this so someone may tell you different
