hi all first thing i would like to thank everyone for their help.

Question 1

Have got recording to mounted hdd sorted, but streaming only works on BBC 1 and 2 no other channels but recording works for all channels, and clues why?

Question 2

What file types can the 500c play back ts files obviously but can it play others?

Have you tried changing the tuner driver?

The Dreambox can only play MPEG/TS format, but you can use VLC to real-time transcode XVID, DIVX, etc and stream to the box. Load up the webinterface, there should be a stream option.
