yup it can be mapped but as its at as low a bhp as that i would recommend new filter's as you can gain that much loss from 143 to 168 just by filters alone if you want more considered a k&n and an uprated fuel pump 170bhp+as title says
audi do a 143bhp auto tdi engine but the manual version is 170bhp i assume its just mapped
anyone know if this can be done retro ??

the cost would be in the remap as for the k&n 30 to 50£ uprated fule pump up to £90 and that would give you a big difference but as for the fuel pump is yours a diesel or petrol??sounds like a lot of work and cost m8
K&N are crap in the VAG family mate, you need a Green Panel filter (about £40)
I had my 150bhp Leon remapped to 200bhp & 330lb/ft torque.
The only thing you may need is a new clutch if you get a generic map, as the torque is normally more than the standard clutch can handle (if you get a custom map, you can ask them to limit the torque to 300lb/ft).
Sachs racing clutch fixed the slip, but cost around £700 !!
diesel m8 still need to keep warrenty too !!
been over this a hundred times every one said to me i need a panel filter for my scooby but every one thinks of a k&n as an after market job k&n also do panel filters and just to add i had a green panel filter and exchanged it for the k&n one and my bhp was up by 7% and the scooby grunt was alot louderK&N are crap in the VAG family mate, you need a Green Panel filter (about £40)

its an automatic m8 and this company your talking about were do they hang out
btw did you find much of an increase in fuel consumption
Where abouts in the country are you and i will see if i can find you a decent tuning specialist.
I looked into this for my own VAG engine a while back, but was advised not to do it on my vehicle as with my milage and age of the engine it would cause problems.
My mate who does all my servicing, said he would only tune a low milage or new car, because of the extra strain caused on standard components.

lol if its mpg your after forget every thing i said k&n and all that i run a subaru sti uk300 i can drive it like a bus and still only do 20mpg if im luckyGot mine done by BAS in York. Heard good things about P-Torque as well though.
Lots of mappers about, just need to see who is in your area & do a bit of research.
Mapping will actually increase your mpg (if driven "normally"), as you will have more torque in the higher gears.
MPG went up between 5-7 mpg on a 25 mile motorway journey (about 52mpg).
On the other hand, if you have a heavy left foot lol............
