1000 to phase 1b

ive got an old cw 1000 and have put it on the tw network i had to stop it updating buy changing the simm to one from a phase 1b. i have got it on cr2. so i was looking at the difference between them both and it seams that the only difference between the 1000 and phase 1b is the two chips that sit next to the atttys on the main board (and the simm of course) so has anyone tried removing these and putting in a 1b simm and see if u can update it to cr3 i would try myself but the box is a friends and i dont wanna mash it up.
has anyone tried this and/or do you think this might work????????

No need to go to that trouble. Just put a 1000 simm board in and it will update itself to cr3. Why would u want cr3 ??

when i put a 1000 simm in it it says its updateing but it stays on cr2 then goes into an update loop.. i want cr3 cos cr2 in tw isnt givin me ppv on an at mega.

You will need an original 1000 simm with 4 chips on it to update it or flash the attys with a TW cr3 dump.
