Hi all,
New TM Original Software has been released for the TM 5402 HD
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+ [Original Software v1.23] 100712
I have just tested the new O/S and what a complete let down again... I cannot see any difference between the new O/S v1.23 and O/S v1.20
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+ [Original Software v1.20] 07 May 2012 (5.83MB)
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+ [Original Software v1.23] 10 July 2012 (5.97MB)
As you can see the file size has increased... but as to what exactly has been added/re-employed/amended/improved... your guess is as good as mine... why can't they just simply add the release notes in a text file...?
The Blind Search scanner is still not working properly... the Signal Quality bar is still restricted to showing 5% - 9% on all transponders with no signal lock... there are still no changes to the scan methods employed... the 'Step' scan method is still missing/not finding transponders... so this has not been altered/improved again... and there is still no sign of the requested Spectrum Analyzer...
I have just done a quick test of the Blind Search scanner on Eutelsat 25A at 25.5°E (fringe reception in the UK) ...I am currently receiving signals from 3 transponders on this satellite...
11.039 V [1534] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 2123 Kbps [Super Beam]
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 96%
Signal Quality 68%
11.065 V [2200] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 3041 Kbps [Wide Beam]
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 97%
Signal Quality 80%
11.152 V [2200] 3/4 DVB-S [QPSK] 3041 Kbps [Wide Beam]
TM 5402 HD CI+ Super+
Signal Strength 96%
Signal Quality 55%
I set the Blind Search scanner to...
TP: 11.000 ~ 11.200
Pol: V
Mode: All
Step: 1MHz
(slowest step scan ~ should be the most accurate)
The Blind Search scanner found nothing at all... not one of these three transponders were found...
So I re-tried the scan with...
Step: 2MHz ~ again nothing
Step: 4MHz ~ again nothing
Step: 8MHz ~ again nothing
I really think that Technomate should go back and look at the real core basics again... they should re-evaluate the founding principles of what their satellite receivers were initially designed/intended to do...
A few years back Technomate employed a sound philosophy of getting the basics sorted out and rock solid before anything else... but this philosophy seems to have been eroded away or just plain and simply overlooked recently as not being that important...
Sorry for the rant but the new O/S v1.23 will now form the basis of any further patches that are made... if this is the case then I am sticking to O/S v1.17 and Phantompatch 1.17
Best Wishes,
Zorch
