ok,

i am testing out some things on my dm500s,

i am having trouble putting cline in cfg file,i.e nothing happens as server is Mgcamd or Newcamd

do i add something or am i unable to do this.

thanks ,

i thought i was getting this until another hill with a puncture from some french tacs!!!:Ha:

well got it sorted i had everything right but had to switch cam off then on again!!
must of been my tacs............but still not sure what the terms newcamd and mgcamd will have to read further.

mgcamd and newcamd must be named exactly that (cASe sensitive) and be located in /var/bin/emu else the Softcam Menu won't see them. In order to work, mgcamd also requires /var/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.7 to be present. This lib file is packaged loose as an optional extra in the release image rar

Cheers- AL :)

does anyone use mgcam on this image as i cant get it to work atall
this is all the files i have from var/keys from my 800
where do these go ? as there seems to be conflicting info.

Should go in var/keys J m8 but should that newcamd file not actually be newcamd.list?
Also did you put the needed lib file on as well?

i have it working on commando the only problem i have with it is from standby ie channel does not clear unless you restart cam or go to another channel
this is what i did
downloaded latest mgcamd 1.38
unpacked it changed the name of mgcamd ppc to just mgcamd and ftp across to var/bin/emu
the rest of the files you have posted you ftp across to var/keys but the newcamd you have there needs to be called newcamd.list (do not forget the .)
also make sure you have at the top of newcamd.list the following
CWS_KEEPALIVE = 300
CWS_INCOMING_PORT = 21000
you can always make your own newcamd.list file using notepad or similar but you need to make sure you have the following lines mentioned at the start
you then add your line starting with CWS= instead of your n the rest of the line is the same (note capitals here )linux is case sensitive
save this and exit
also you need to ftp the libcrypto.so.0.9.7 (which is in the downloaded rar image file) to var/lib
thats it save and exit reboot your box then select mgcamd from sotcam menu and if every thing has been done correctly you should be clearing your channels your line alows you to
hope this helps

Try adding these lines into /var/tuxbox/config/standby.off

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

It's automating what you're having to do manually with the channel Up then.Down but should have the desired result.

Cheers- AL ;)

thanks for that Al i tried the above but still have the same result if watching a channel cleared by mgcamd then go to standby when switch back on blank screen until change channel
i tried with cccam and all was ok so maybe a mgcamd problem no biggie
and thanks for your time in getting back

thanks this has sorted it big Al.
gremlin well and truly kicked up the ar$e and gone tried at 5 and worked lowered to 3 and worked as well
sure this will help others using mgcamd to

followed these instructions and for the life of me can get mgcamd working!
mgcamd 1.38 shows as on in blue-menu red.
installed a working line in newcamd.list in var/keys along with mg_cfg
and have the libcrypto.so.0.9.7 in var/lib
am i missing anything else?

I think it's been established elsewhere that mgcamd 1.38 is for E2 images only and won't work on DM500 boxes. Try mgcamd 1.35 E1 version, m8.

Cheers- AL :)

Post #5 by halfman halflager says he has 1.38 working! I tried 1.35a last night but still no joy:-(
I am gonna start afresh tonight with clean install.

can confirm have mgcamd 1.38 working
did you use the mgcamd 1.38 with ppc at the end and changed name just to mgcamd ? not used a mips file or sh4 file ?
its worth going back and double checking everything a. left in will make it not work (i can say this from experience) also linux is case sensitive

ok peeps, fresh install seemed to do the trick. and all my gratitude goes out to everybody who help/replied to my problem.
cheers everyone ;-)

Does any one have a mgcamd ppc as Ive tried everything to get it to work but keep failing I have mgcamd in the softcams I can set it to on but cant get it to work

chmod should be 755,but the image itself will take care of the chmod end of it,
have you added the needed lib file?

Also is it configured correctly to work as it may just be a config problem instead of an actual cam problem :)

Hi Wiz thanks for the quick reply I have added the lib file to var/lib and my newcamd.list worked fine before I tried this new image what should be in var/keys

Theres a setting in mg_cfg,
think its G: {},
you need to set this to G:{33}
