TM 7100HD Tech help needed

Boot 5.01
CH FO14 + ST0001

After minute or so picture glitches then freezes can not do anything with remote
have to turn box on and off from power switch at the back.
Thought it was just internet based programs but put BBC1 on and after a minute sound glitched then everything frozen

Any ideas please

how did you load the patch on m8 did you use the recommended method
1)back up channel list
2)factory reset
3)load original latest origanal technomate firmware (from Technomate software online)
4)factory reset
5)load latest Phantom patch (from Technomate software online)
6) load latest addon 002 if you did not do this before
7)factory reset
8)put back channellist
9)rescan all sats in use
if your using a motorised system make sure to make note of your usuals settings before you do a factory reset
try this method first and see if it fixes the problem

Just did exactly that before I logged in and found your info

The only thing is I'm transferring data from usb is that okay?
and when I look at system information it doesn't show Phantom or addon
Should it???
if so I must be doing something wrong

when the system info says 1.44p this the p bit will tell you that it's a patch and loading it by usb should be fine
the add-on will not show up in system info but will activate the server menu (while watching a channel press "8281" type in your pin)
and you didn't say if the method fixed your problem or how old the box is ,the fact that it's happening on fta channels does not sound good to me
did you check all the satcabling you could have a little shortcirciut somewhere or water leaking into the connections at the lnb's.
Did you change something recent?

Not sure how old box is bought it from ebay,
Always had glitching especially on Racing Channel (worst of all)
I tried updating firmware from Technomate about 10 days ago
from there it got worse, freezing on BBC for first time yesterday
Reloaded everything this morning just before reading your reply
and so far no freezing for about 10 minutes, (still glitching)
I can accept the glitching but what gets me is when the box locks up
and I have to turn power off and on, but at the moment just slight glitches no freezing

are the fta ones not glitching now?
Is the glitching only on the $ channels then it could just be a server isue.
Or you could try setting your ecm-pids by going to the racing channel and press mute>exit>blue button this will bring you into the ecm-pids menu
it will be set to default but scroll down to the ecm-pid and ok on it and save and move to different channel and back and see if the glitching improved
you could do this to all the $ channels start with the ones that are glitching the most and see if it improves it's a lot of work but once you have them all done it will make a big difference and don't forget to backup your channellist after all the work.

Like thijs is already suggesting/pointing out about the transponders/channels but

Maybe i'm wrong,
I think he has some corruption in his channellist. Maybe something wrong with the transponders. have you tried to factory reset the channellist
Then, just scan manually the channels that glitches and sees if its still glitches or stalls the box.

After the reset and the manual scan, what signal are you getting for that transponderfrequency ?(strength and quality ?)
To be sure, delete the glitching transponder. I had it before as the fec/ symbolrate changed and a factory reset did not make any difference, after re-inserting the transponder with the right settings everything worked fine.
