hi im still struggling badly with the new moterised satelite installation and need further help.

I finaly got a Hammer drill this weekend so was able too actually start the process of install! Had to buy a sds plus 10mm drill bit also without either above you cannot start moterised installation !

But im stuck with the L bracket mount being fully plum alround ?

This is what it looks like atm:

Ive lined up my bubble leveler like above and it is in line the bubble.

However do I need to also check this way? :

And this way ?:

So do I need to check "alround plum" as many suggest to me and is that the correct way above?

I did oddly manage successfully too make it all plum if the above is correct and then I tightened the 4 bolts securely and rechecked it was still alround plum however when putting on the moter its no longer plum on top! hence the reason why im asking for further advise lol

never mind the plastic bit m8, you need to put your level on the vertical part of the bracket and check its plumb on all sides.

v14 is right, it's the vertical part that needs to be plum. Have some spare pieces of wood handy that you can wedge behind the wall plate if required. Also, it is good practice to secure the L-bracked just off plumb, so that the vertical section is pointed towards the wall slightly. When you mount the motor and dish, this should bring it back to the vertical position, or thereabouts.

Thx guys gonna hopefully be up and running tommorow now, thats a good idea I was initialy worried about that since surely putting on a moter/heavy large dish the L end bit will go down and make it not plum, think ill use some washers on the bottom bolts that way it goes down in level.

I wish you all the best mate, but are you sure that concrete post will
hold all the extra weight(dish, motor, etc.) Hope it works out for you.

Ive pushed and pulled it about and its solid as a rock. I think its gonna be more then fine. I know the post is low but hopefully since its my 1st step into Satelites, I can always retry again.

I may post up my install with pics.... before pic and after pic will show it on fire moving 1 west.

should be good the post i think mate,i bought a little scaffolders spirit level form the local screwfix, came in handy as it has magnets on it so it stuck to the post while i was making sure it was 100 straight

Ok I know im taking the plums now but I retried making it as vertical as possible and I can get it perfect on both sides (left and right) but at the front and back its not plum.

So when were talking about plum on all sides is it just left and right?

If its plumb left then it will be plumb right as well lol.
It needs to be plumb left and right, front and back. So if it plumb on the left and then plumb on the front thats it.

If I am reading you right then the back/front should be the easiest to get plum as you can put packers/washers behind the plate to bring it plum.

thx I had a feeling it was front and back also, am using some washers too balance it right. Had to redrill some holes again too get balance right, the little boatman is "almost" in the middle now on all sides but its scarey just moving it almost a titchy bit throws it off !

Maybe its justified sky/sat installers charge 130 quid lol

Tbh m8 if everyone was being honest I dont think we do get it 100% plum, depending on the level and which way you squint your eye etc,but if you dont aim to get it 100% then you will end up way off imo.

Fix one of the the bottom holes loosely, Plumb left and right then drill second hole, You are now plumb left and right. Then drill top 2 holes, pack out to plumb the back/front.

I would say the boatman is touching the black line on the right handside but its almost in the middle on the leveler that should be ok?

I was trying too make heads of digidudes guide and he said the 2nd most important thing is too make sure dish is pointed directly away from the moters pole ?

Is this ok ?

Im going by the technomates moter where the line is running downwards ?

Im gonna tweek it and make sure the nutz and end bit lengths are about the same on all 4 sides im gonna further tweek it now:

Im getting there lol

Ive only just set the latitude on both sides of the moter and just switched on the box, Ive entered my Lat into the technomate 5400 reciever but im having difficulty setting the longitude, it only gives me:

00.0W and according to multimaps mines Lon: 0:15:05W (-0.2514) anyway I can get the extra numbers ?

Or do I enter it 02.5w ?

Just enter it as 00.2 or 00.3 as its half way it wont make a difference m8
