the dol file can only be executed via the homebrew channel

you will need to get hold of a wad file or convert the dol to wad then use was installer to install it therefore it availbale directly thru the main Wii screen.

not strictly true, but one of the more convenient ways of launching it.

use the bannerbomb to install the hbc or run your sdload directly

i have hbc already installed. can i just install thru there?

it wont install. you can load it via the homebrew channel.

ive attached a forwarder channel.

place the boot.dol in folder

apps/usbloader/

install the wad using wad manager and it should now load your usb loader

think this is my next thing to try. i have a spare hdd in an old pc can i just buy a usb enclosure for that and use it or does it have to be a certain type of hdd? also is there i guide to setting this up etc

i tried that mine did not work. it has to be partioned to a certain format and the hard drive has to be supported by the program

So all i need to do is install that wad file and place the boot.dol in the apps folder and it should run? does that mean i need the sdcard in when i want to run the loader tho?

1) Download WBFS manager (******/wbfsmanager.codeplex.com/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=26808
2) Install it
3) Format your drive via the WBFS manager
4) Install a game on the drive via WBFS manager
5) plug it into the wii and see if it comes up if there is a error your drive is not supported

If you would like a picture guide please tell me and i shall make one.

to be honest im not exactly sure about what cios36_rev? is installed. its softmodded using english's guide for dummies. with cioscorp installed with preloader n bootmii.

do have a link for rev9 or later?

heres rev 13b. copy the extracted folder into your app folder. then run in homebrew channel. Select install via network.

is there a list somewhere that tells you whether drives are supported or not?

its a wiki page i think, im sure -1 can also means it cant find the drive/drive not compatable if you get me if you dont have a drive plugged in the wii and try to load it in a loader it gives a -1 error my guess would be to try the cios file and try the drive again as english wrote his guide before usb support so you definatly dont have the file installed for usb support meaning no drive found.
