prob installing softmii

hi im just trying to install softmii ive done the twilight hack and installed the homebrew channel then installed ios16.wad then when i goto intstall cios249r7.wad i get a error

>> installing ticket... error! (ret = -2011)

anyone any ideas my console is on 3.3e at the moment, thanks.

ive just realised in the tut i downloaded with the files it says to install cIOSrev7.wad not cios249r7.wad is that where im goin wrong i only have 2 files showing in wad manager at the moment ios16.wad and cios249r7.wad, cheers

problem sorted i found another tut from the same place only different lol anyway i used custom wad manager and that installed it 1st time, if the 2nd tut ive got gets me through it ill post it once im done i know most probably have it but to make things easier for a semi newb like me lol

another problem bloody typical i ran ios downgrader and everything downloaded installed etc i pressed home and went to nand dumper as per tut and then TITLE/00000001/00000002/ where im supposed to copy 00000045 for PAL but its not there i have 2 folders insted content and data ive checked thoses folders and 00000045.app isnt in there either, this tut is all over the place i read that it was but this takes the mick lol any help appreciated cheers.

cheers for the reply (again) mate lol, guess what im stuck again well not stuck but unsure ive installed preloader as per tut and i am now in the hack system menu it says in the tut

22) Enable all the hacks you would like, (recommended - Skip Updates, Move Disc Channel and all No Copy)

ive done skip disc update check ,move disc channel but i cant see all no copy is that refering to remove no copy protection its the only one i can see that i think it could be its just i dont want to change too much as i dont know much about the options yet time to play later if you get my point, cheers.

just found the solution in the tut i started with theres a break down and explantion which i hadnt noticed at the top

Remove NoCopy Protection - Removes The Copy Protection From Game
Saves

which helps me with my sisters wii because i almost got shot yesterday when it seemed like i lost her madagascar save lol, but it does seem like theres more options in the tut than im getting do i need to download the other hack.ini i read about from (not sure which post tbh) or are those options for a older version of preloader, thanks.

done apparently I JUST GOT SOFTMII'D, i know ive answerd alot of my own post on this thread but english as helped me enough lol but hopefully some of the daft probs ive had will help somebody else.
ive installed as per tut(s) ive installed BackupLauncher_03g_Wiiish_v3_EN_Force_Pal60 should that be me good to go or do i need anything else or is there anything else worth a look at apart from the custom themes im gonna look into, any tips would be great also,
do i need the other hack.ini for preloader or should i be ok as i am and
do i need to brickblock games etc in the future or does skip updates take care of that,

Thats one reason why I won't use SoftMii. The freakin bad tutorial. It really sucks ass.

But what hacks do you have right now and what other hacks could you select in PreLoader?
You dont have to brickblock cause the updates will be stopped. There are people who'd brickblock every game just in case but I'm too lazy for that. Never had problems .

tbh m8 i would have a go at softmii if thats all thats bothering you if you follow the tut im pretty sure all the post ive made in this thread will cover any gaps in the tut ive pretty much asked about anything that didnt match to the tut to be sure. ive just come across this updated tut on the softmii site LINK
have a crack mate my wii is allready chipped with a wii key but i heard good things about this so i gave it ago ive got to do a mates and my sisters tomorrow lol i should keep my mouth shut

replace healthwarning - disabled
skip disc update check - enabled
region free gc games with video mode - disabled
remove diagnostic disc check - disabled
no menu bgm - disabled
region free channels - disabled
remove nocopy protection - enabled
move disc channel - enabled

i read the other hack.ini had more options i just need to know if i need bother or not, cheers for the reply mate

Actually I'm not gonna do anything with SoftMii. I know exactly what each app/wad in the package does and I'm no fan of the customized themes and health screens. Next to that I'm not using ARC cause it has way to much bullshit not needed. Actually on this moment I'm very hard considering writing my own app that does all the magic offline, but the point is that I have to little time. Point is (no offense) I know what I'm doing so SoftMii is not my thing .

1: replace healthwarning - disabled
2: skip disc update check - enabled
3: region free gc games with video mode - disabled
4: remove diagnostic disc check - disabled
5: no menu bgm - disabled
6: region free channels - disabled
7: remove nocopy protection - enabled
8: move disc channel - enabled

1: You wont get the boot screen which says 'Press A button' but will boot directly into the system menu. If you like your new health (startup) screen (if you have one) dont apply this hack. Else I would do it.
2: Blocks the updates from game discs. Should be enabled.
3: Lets you play region free gamecube games. Don't know if the custom mios takes care of this but if would only enable this one if you have a gamecube game from another region that wont work.
4: For autobooting discs using the Y button on the gamecube pad the Wii will check if the disc inserted is a diagnostic disc. This hack will remove that check. I say enable.
5: There wont be background music in your system menu if you enable this hack. Thats up to you.
6: You can use region free channels. Dont see any need for them actually but thats just my opinion.
7: This option will remove the copy protection on saves games so you're able to just copy your saves to anywhere (correct me if I'm wrong). Is say enable.
8: No option I need but this will allow you to move the disc channel to another place on your screen just like you can do with other channels. Up to u.

lol sorry mate no offence taken tbh ive seen your post helping other people out and asking dead technical questions lol i just forgot who i was talking too, thanks for explaining the points mate im going to check mine to those i will probably leave the custom themes alone i dont mind the original one tbh ive just installed world of goo so been having a go at that im looking round for wads now to have a play, thanks again.
