Hi today i got my powersync from tmc the one with 6 dips on it
the problem is that it wont recognise rom11s at all and rom10s just run for ever
and give loads of consecutive resets
using both winexplorer and sidewinder
dip 1 is the only one set to on and also ive tried both of tbc flashes now ive put it back on newd11x flash.

eney one have eney ideas thanks..

turn your pot anti clockwise 1 full turn then try rom11, then if not work another full turn. until it runs, or if lol.

pot could be poorly adjusted and choking the card, if you get nothing but resets from rom10 this is also likely to be poorly adjusted pot.

the function of the pot;

cards have a capacitive/inductive load, this means that when the card power is dipped the vcc line may be fed momentairily with the flyback from this load, in some cases the flyback vcc can exceed the maximum capacity of the card. shottky diode mod is used to clamp this vcc in place so that it doesn't do this (common in nagra2 cards) the pot is also used to clear this vcc flyback by dumping it to ground. effectively making the vcc glitch work better and allowing the shaping of the vcc glitch to a certain degree.
The downside;
If you have no idea how to set or check your pot then this load to ground may be of such low resistance as it prevents the glitcher hardware from supplying enough power to the card for it to start up in some cases and in a lesser sense can cause the glitcher to crash when it applies the glitch giving rise to constant resets the later can also happen if the glitch is thus extended to a point where the card crashes due to the agression of the glitch or the hardware cannot deliver the glitch properly. also of course a powersupply that is not capable of delivering 300milliamps or more will doubtless give the same problem.

thanks m8 i think that's what it all boils down to the pot i gave it a twist and now its running well on the rom 10 eney way vcc 13 vdc 12 on an oem 10v modem power supply. so basically its a matter of trial and error with the pot settings then?
cheers m8

trial and error , was there something about my description of the use of the pot above that gave that impression ..? lololol
