MY 2 250`s on infinite (with the protection methods) were online with no problems , I was doing a bit of tidying and i unplugged the mains lead for a few minutes, wen i put it back they booted up ok, but never came back online.
I get this in the event log and it keeps trying this for about 5 minutes repeatedly logging the error
"DHCP FAILED - Discover sent, no offer received "
and
"Received Response to Broadcast Maintenance Request, But no Un... "
After 5 minutes it begins scanning frequancys, loops round until it gets back to 586750000 and then starts again with the error messages.
Anyone else seeing this ? I am in the rochdale area ? im wondering if its just a local cable problem or if this is a further ECM ? Nothingmentione dhere abotu my area rigth now :

Ok, back now, seems to me it was a temporary problem in my area.

Perhaps somone brute forcing the dhcp servers a little too much with a certain tool ? or perhaps unrelated maintenance / bug.

Just checked modem logs, looks like they were makign soem changes, new entry into mymodem logs now :
Thu Nov 22 03:40:21 2007 Error (4) SW Upgrade Failed during download - Max retry exceed (3)
Thu Nov 22 03:40:21 2007 Notice (6) SW Download INIT - Via Config file cmreg-ntlhm250-bund03.cm
I set max downlaod tries to 0 on my modems in an attempt to prevent themfromtaking a firmware update, seems that it worked.
