What is this, is it a patch to allow old skool dbox2 neutrino to run on a dreambox?

Yep

at present only Enigma runs on a dream box but a coder in Germany is trying his luck with Neutrino now.

A lot more stuff needs to be done but he is not near the box for a few more days so if you fancy testing and report back via the link

You're wrong m8, neutrino images have been on dreambox 500c for ages - take a look at the neutrino dreamplus and neutrino dreamplus ultra images - they work perfect with all the features that enigma images hava and more.

Are we talking about Neutrino 2 or standard CVS Neutrino Dream box Images ..?

As far as I am aware (have not got a dream) the old original Neutrino has not been running on the Dream as of yet (Standard CVS)

I might be as well wrong

So far only Rudbox have been able to create Neutrino images from CVS and they won't release how they do it.

Not working. It's hanging by the boot process. Possibly rcS problem.

Now he boot's a russian Image at this point via console=ttyS0,115200

and he found the following script on the Dream in /var/bin/mount_all.sh

He then logged onto the serial console and killed the running Neutrino via ctrl-c

He then logged in twice via telnet

He then started mount_all.sh

He then kills wdog, zapit, controld, sectionsd, nhttpd and timerd

Then starts manually

Hi,

he said here that he did not actually boot his dreambox with that Image but bootet from a ruddream or something russian (i only guess) but he thinks you should also be able to boot the box from enigma

He then entered the commands via the console/telnet and I assume he then booted from a NFS Share or so his tuxbox...

Feel free to reply there and maybe you guys could get something toghether

EDIT: At the end he writes that he will ckeck out the init scripts so that you are actually able to flash the Image so I assume that answers the flashing question

tuxbox cant naming team on there forum but they did not say ruddream - NEVER!!!

different approch:

then adopt the code from etc/init.d/start_neutrino into the rcS and replace what would start neutrino

Features:
- Aspectratio-Changes are detected
- busybox 1.2, Network changes should work again
- customize-flash script, that hopefully makes this Images "flash-able"
- Movieplayer can play movies
- after a cold reboot (without starting the russian Image) the picture is still there. (teletextDemux->start() fails, but seems harmless-> do not cancel)
- many little other things that he forgot ;-)
