excellent booster

Yea, I stayed away from the expensive one's and got this http://en.seekbest.com.cn/newEbiz1/...a90a&ProductInfoExhibit_isRefreshParent=false
only cost abot €5 and works brilliantly for TV (don't know about modem). All my channels are now at 95% signal. Shipping was fast (about 2 weeks and cheap about €4? to Ireland.

I ordered it here along with some other goodies http://www.uxcell.com/

that's the same one i've been using mate, posted about it on this thread (post number 14), i'm suprised there haven't been that many people purchasing this one.
Anyway been working fine feeding my three dreamboxes :eater:

Yea Dui,
I should have given you credit but didn't remember - I'm surprised also that more aren't using it - to be honest in all the posts I wasn't sure which signal booster was being referred to.

Thats a different one to the one dweeb4 is using, it looks to me like dweeb4
is using one of the semaphore models,
and as there are 2 semaphore models + the one that your using on the uxcell site that makes a choice
of 3, what is the best one to get

Will this work fine when split between Tv & Modem?

Thanks.

yes, split the cable before going into the amp, then take one feed to your modem and the other to the amp.

Yep, mine's the same without variable gain - according to the product card it boosts signal by 12 to 14dB. As dui says great price, that's waht attracted me. Only thing is the threads on the screw on connectors are slightly different than the N*L cable screw (don't know what you call these cables with screw on ends?)so it makes for a tedious but fine connection. Don't know if you found this too dui?

anyway there are include some connectors for bare cable if you want.

yep same here, think i mentioned it one of my earlier posts.
the f-type screw terminals on the amplifier don't take the f-type connector crimped on the cables, i cut the ends of me cable and put the connectors that come with the amplifier and everything works fine.

on secounds thoughts forget that sorry guys i gone and followed everyone on the yellow brick road lol

Hello, lets see if someone can help here.

I dont know if i need a booster or not. No problems with TV, modem bit slow, but i guess everyone with 20meg at moment having an issue.

When can you tell if you got a signal problem. Where from my eurovox or by subbed cable box can i check for snr's and signal strenght??? And what can i compare too, what is classed good and bad.

My setup: got a NTl guy to do it for us for £30. At moment its a 4 bedroom house all with cable connections.

From outside NTL box, i think he put a splitter there. One comes straight into my living room and end in a white ntl box.

The other goes straight to one of the rooms upstairs and forms the second white ntl box. From there a 3 way splitter to 3 rooms, plus from one room a further 2 way splitter for modem. (all upstairs)

I havent noticed any signal issues, does it mean am fine, just thought might be losing on some channels???? Modem is running slow in speed, could it be signal related.

If i need booster do i need 2. one downstaits and one up?????? bearing in mind it splits from outside ntl greenbox and forms two white boxes in the house.

Cheers (sorry bit long)

On your Pace stb* (*subbed cable box) do this:

Plug plug out
Hold Up and Down buttons on stb
Plug in whilst still holding in buttons

Goto signal page and report SNR, Error rate.

You should see red, orange or green bars. This indicates poor, ok, and good signal levels respectively.

Very good question! Reading other forums seems to point towards Signal.Return Path problem?????

If your Error rate is ok then your TV picutre and sound should be fine. You could try take splitters out and see wat effect it has on yuor setup. If it improves things without splitters it looks like you could do with some more signal, buy a booster.
