1 Just follow the guide in the first post....

2 then download the plex channels in the link below, when you have the zip (unzip first) then you need to copy and paste into plex plugins folder on you computer

3 restart PMS and launch the plex app on you now tv box and install icefilms navi-x etc

Do the icefilms, navi-x extras run from the PC to the Box or do they run independently on the box itself?

You have to install icefilms and navi-x etc on the PC along with you movie and TV library

The only extra you have to install on the now TV box is the plex app

So your PC needs to be on to stream all the goodies from then?

yes...you got it

but for £10 and free delivery its steal

also catchup services bbc iplayer, 5demand and probably more to come


i paid over £100 each for my apple tv 1st gen boxes with xbmc

did you install this via the unapproved app store? I have installed icefilms add on, and it works fine on the web version of plex.
However on the now tv box it just doesnt show the channel.

Have you installed plex on your now TV box?

You also need to change in the setting in plex media on PC to disable capability checking.....you need to tick this

Then reboot both PC and box

thanks, yes I had done everything apart from that checkbox. Thanks for your help!

I installed all the stuff from the unsupported apps store as soon as I got it , but I've now stuck it back in the box ,dont see any point having to leave laptop on to stream the stuff, when I can just use xbmc on my laptop and connect it to the TV,
xbmc works better anyway, now if I could install the apps straight on the box that would be a different matter

I know what you mean.

Benefit to me is that my laptop has no HDMI out so I can stream to the TV in good quality

Howdy all,

Should you not have HDMI (yes I know...) you can contact their support and get the AV cable kit.
It is the same kit you would get if you bought a Roku LT (Currently about £30 in Currys).

Guys

You can install UnsupportedAppstore into the Plex Server on the synology NAS (and probally others as well)

I have got icefilms and "let me watch this" plugins both installed and working.

Not yet opened me Now TV box yet, but all works from the plex client on my android.

set it up did wifi signed up and in
but cannot get to sort dev out
followed part 1 but on the right left part it just goes right left on the screen
many thanks in advance

ok strike that sorted i need to learn to read properly forgot the right at the end

HOME 3 times
UP 2 times
RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT

It will go left right on the screen but on the last Right it should get you to the relevant screen.
