cant flash dm800hd original

You can look at the bios like this but as you can not get a IP to start with its not going to help

1st First, shut down the box and disconnect from the network (min 1 minute)

2ndpress Power button on the front page and plug the box .

3rd The display xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx DHCP (IP address) *** *** STOP

4th In the Window's on Start -> Run -> go and telnet
followed by the box IP. (z.b. telnet 192.168.2.105) per
of network configuration

Now appears the bios of the box.

What I suggest you try is a program called optiflasher

Youll still need a null cable and Ethernet cable attached.

ok ive d/loaded a couple of versions of optiflasher 1.0.3 and 2.0.0.5 and ssl-bt
just gonna have a read on what to do

as for connect via telnet is a no go as i said no ip
@AJT i read thru your thread earlier about you trying sunray flashup,so i ended up trying it
nothing worked,says connecting to box

time for round two,i aint gonna get beaten by a box

thanks for the pointers upto now @Ferret and AJT

just a side note while i was searching about this error on box,i came across summat about gettin a working dm600
booting that up then switching over to the faulty box to repair it,i cant remember where i saw it,maybe on dmm forum
have you come across this way of doing it

Old trick mate was to get a connection with dreamup using a identical box with no problems then switch over to the faulty box.

Im not sure of that working never really tried, Optiflasher is your best bet.

ok guys still not got any further :(

ive d/loaded optiflasher by yassinov set it up according to his tutorial, for using the null cable
on its own,set up started optiflasher going, then plugged in power supply of the box, optiflasher
saying busy, left it for a bit and nothing changed in optiflasher,0% and saying busy,so i tried the way
using lan cable and null cable 0% and sayin busy

also i d/loaded nfc tools by the same author, set nfc to what it supposed to be click connect
it then says power up the box, plug in power lead, nfc sayin busy left it for a bit and no change

i forgot to put a pix in earlier, this is what it is showing when it is in stop mode

Can you try another router Ethernet cable ?

Did you try using the optiflasher auto find option to see if it will find the box

Usually when a tuner fails the box will go half way through the boot sequence and freeze on the M on DReam on the display.

What your suggesting is worth a try though mate

Is there anyway to prove that there is an actual network connection to the box.?
could it all be in vain as the Ethernet in socket is kaput or something..
do you need drivers installed for RS cable? im just blue sky thinking....

its got to be something stupid we are missing.

1-run dreamup , connect DM800 with cable
2- under dreamup select network and in the remote ip (box) put the ip you want for your box
3-now switch on the dreambox, dreamup will prepared the box for flash
when ready for flash
4 take the remote ip (box) then follow the procedure through the web now
192,168.xxxx.xxx
will get to the upgrade firmware page

This will force the box on bootloader mode

dreambox enforcer????

That sky blue thing again.

ive took the tuner out,set and started optiflasher for null cable, click do job, power into box
nothing happens in optiflasher, tried with lan cable and null cable, still the same

@AJT when i plug the power into box, green and yello light comes on for the ethernet, then goes off as for drivers ??

while i was lookin at the mobo i noticed (i think) a pinout for a rs232 ??,summat like what i used to see in modems using a max232 cable
could this box be jtagged ???
its a white plug with 4 pins the red arrow

just tried it all again nothing, just same as before

what about a wireless dongle connected to the box or would it need the drivers for the dongle or are they
special type of dongles for dm800

wont happen in flash mode only a wifi bridge and thats no point as you have a cable.
I suggest you unplug the box till morning..then power on holding the front power button see if it wants a cold start.

P.S On the DreamBox DM800 HD PVR I have for reference, the JTAG connector is located behind the USB connector, with pin 1 located facing the back of the box and facing the RJ45 ethernet connector.copied..

Don't worry just use a different image for dm800 i had this as well just tried loads of images till one loaded...try a few till you get one that goes at one point i had 12 images i had them alover the place...anything to get the box flashed..you can sort out a proper image later.
But great to hear an advance in the right direction.

Im thinking the Oozoon image or maybe merlins will be small enough mate.

Google will surley pull up a ssl82 version of Oozoon im sure if not ill have a go at finding one let me know.

@Ferret i be appreciated if you could please
I've been Googling a few images and getting confused with the sim being A2P
I don't know what version of the image should be version1, version2.01, version2.10 etc

Sent from 2 tin cans and some string
