NZBMATRIX closed - Post Alternatives

Hey there :)
This is my first post...so I will just say "hello" here for now.

I went on vacation and had to realize that my favorite page is gone :/
I have another account at

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

but without the VIP status. Does anyone know how safe it is to get it there? Is it worth it (similar to nzbmatrix)?
Also I tried to check out nzbeez...but I guess I am a little bit too late :/ Any one knows if they will open their registration again?

Have you managed to get the API working ?

With posts being taken down within hours of being posted I really need something that can work with sickbeard

Yep, it works great with SickBeard. I don't really like just paying to try this stuff, I wish they you could try without forking out some cash, but I guess it was no big deal to pay $3 to try it - anyway, it worked fine for me so I signed up for a year after trying it.

I'm not being funny but if you are the admin for the site can you please say so. Don't pretend that you are normal user.

I found
Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

The site seems based on nzbnab.

This site is also based on nzbnab

Code:
You don't have permission to view the code content. Log in or register now.

The difference is the first charges $26 per year for premium access, the latter charges $8.50 for life.

The other difference is the latter also doesnt make you pay to download at all, you still get access to all SD & HD & XX content and you can use RSS with sabnzbd.

As they are both based on the same nzbnab they both work in the same way. They both work with sickbeard API or just with sabnzbd for automatically downloading etc...

Yes, you are right - I am the admin of the site - I am not trying to hide it, just not advertising I am.

I am the admin and I realize the price is a little higher than other nzbnab sites, but I am working hard on adding many new features and am open to any suggestions - I am a seasoned php/mysql developer and my intention is to make it the next newzbin and better.

Feel free to email (the link on upgrade account page) me to request for free full access if you understand this - of course, payments of will make a difference into my ability to spend the time I want to - I'm sure you all understand.

Actually no.

I have a NewzNab server, at present I haven't decided yet to publicise it's content or indeed if I ever will, but me being paid to spend time looking at it, learning from it and trying new things isn't a means NOT to develop you or a piece of "freeware"

Even if there are hosting costs they are relatively cheap these days.

I can't stop people paying for services under development, but most people can setup their own server with little or no effort involved.

Huh - all right - I didn't realize this was the attitude here - I'm sure everyone here is smart enough to setup their own site, I'm not implying I'm any better - I was just trying to explain my motives - like everyone (well many people anyways), I prefer being paid for my efforts.

No worries, if you prefer setting up your own site - I for one could certain change the oil in my car and know how to do it - doesn't mean I will - I prefer paying someone.

I know how much it takes to run a website of any type, and the amount of hours it takes.

But I, personally, work on the principal of donations (if people feel the need) without forced payments. I run various sites and have done for over a decade and never once do I force people to pay for higher access or extra benefits.

I run my sites as a hobby and not a business, especially when I'm actually offering something that is free to download and should be available to all (and is also not 100% legit). If people want to donate then fair enough, but I don not have "donate" buttons or posts.

I wish you luck in your venture.

Promoting people to learn for themselves? It's not an attitude per se, but rather most people I know that work in IT, that do something as a hobby, outside of work, do so to develop skills and don't expect payment but rather be paid on the basis of the effort without expectations (i.e. donations)

I can forgive paying for services such as Matrix because they are not pre-built sites or packages, developers have actually spent time building it from the ground up. Most developers seem to think these days they can do something with the least amount of effort and get paid for it, and generally do it shoddily (it's been my experience of this over the last 10 years in a corporate environment).

Lot's of these sites are popping up at the moment, all asking for a cut of the pie at differing levels, what makes yours stand out which could justify a payment over and above, on the promise of "it being like nzbmatrix in the future" or my site for that matter?

I was offered one a few weeks back for $8 a year, it looked no different than the base install with generic groups added and indexed the same content, just like yours.

I can access another well known (non NewzNab) site, with 1200 days retention, for $12 a year.....

I mean really, your joined a site dedicated to technology, tried to promote your paid for service without being totally open and didn't expect to have motives questioned?

I realize I didn't start on the right foot here - I did try to pretend, yes, but after being asked I promptly admitted I did (even though I didn't seem honest - sorry again) - and for that I am sorry - I am here to learn and appreciate any feedback. I should have just started that way.

I am the admin of
Code:

- a newznab based site. Please fee free to register and send email (link on upgrade page) stating you are member here and I will upgrade you for free.

Perhaps I should try a "for life" approach - or maybe even free and donations welcome - then in a while, when the site is truly better, I can charge...

Thoughts?

I have a lot to learn and don't understand any of this 'stuff'. I only recently started looking into it and was bang on time for the one that was recommended to me closing down (i.e. NZBMATRIX).

Following this thread to see if I can pick up any info. along the way and did see your original link. Call me suspicious (and I have only been here 5 minutes myself), but seeing your original posting of your link didn't look right at all. I may be out of order and apologies if I am and am treading on anybodies toes, but I feel that this quoted posting is more on the lines of best approach.....my opinion of course!!
