So does that mean I cannot support any english team because I'm a paddy?
I've never bought into that load of crap mate, most clubs would suffer financially if that was the case.

Be careful about using the word, "Paddy", We Hoop supporters aren't even allowed to call ourselves Tango-India-Mikes any more.
My main loyalty is to Our Isles, so you're welcome to support any true Manchester team, but be careful about using potentially insulting language.
Welcome to our tiny sanctuary. There'd be more of us, but we're a modest lot and don't go in for traditional gloating.
That's why we don't make a big deal out of having proved ourselves to be the best team in England.
BTW, Am I alone or does that new United strip also remind others of rags?
yeah basil welcome and nice posts in the MU thread.
I think the worlds going TOO Politically Correct, especially when you can't say paddy!! next they'll be tutting at words like scouser and manc!! deary me lol
thanks for the games above miggy
Back near the end of the 60's or early 70's I was on a bus from Wolverhampton station to Molineux.
It's therefore thanks to all the evil comments from Reds in London and Singapore that City won the title.
Totally agree! I don't usually believe in karma -or cats would be extinct and all my enemies would have been eaten by space aliens. But one karmic incident from long ago comes to mind. Back near the end of the 60's or early 70's I was on a bus from Wolverhampton station to Molineux. City had recently lost 3-0 at West Brom and 3-0 at Coventry, then the First Division's permanent relegation favourites. Wolves were doing really well and I didn't give City a prayer.
On the bus, a Wolves fan dared to refer to our sacred Kippax as the Tampax stand. At that moment, the result's importance became 2nd only to those of derby matches and cup finals. <snarl>
Wolves did score (Derek Dougan I think), but Mike Summerbee hit two before City got a penalty. We were all cheering for The Buzzer to take the kick for his hat trick and Francis Lee wanted him to as well. Shame he didn't, but despite Franny's miss, we still won 3-1.
Anyone insulting our beloved City, does so at their own risk! It's therefore thanks to all the evil comments from Reds in London and Singapore that City won the title.
Accordingly, I'll expect much more courtesy from the United brigade next season...
...but I won't be holding my breath. <g>
Tevez and Adebayor could face Man City axe as Blues look to reduce wage bill

Just goes to prove even if you do have the funds we all need to count the pennies.
More like they know they cannot meet UEFA financial fair play rules if they spend 114% of their income on wages alone, no way to get round that, even if they try to use another type of Bullshi Etihad sponsorship deal to boost income ( i say bullshi as the company is owned by his brother, if he wasnt a close relative, there is no way a company would put in that much money for a sponsorship deal at that time)
Chelski on the other hand seemingly do not give a flying toss, they spend the most on wages and have just added another ridiculously highly waged player in Hazard to their ranks, and its likely there will be a few more to come.
Bloody Hell Basil2, you must be an old git like me !!!
From a time when teams played in "football grounds" and we had terraces. I bet you were one of the "butchers coat" brigade (do you remember them, with all the writing in felt-tip pen and covered in badges !!).
I was a Travelling United fan back then (train, coach, car, hitch-hike whatever got me there !). I only missed 2 games home and away in the 74/75 season when we were in the old 2nd Division and remember that was when United fans were banned fro away games. So we are not all "Glory Hunters".
Back then we sang "If I die on the Kippax", had a meat and potato pie and a bovril at half time (it took too long to get near the bar).
We hated each other and we insulted each other, but I suspect we always had a respect for each others teams. Because we knew there were great footballers in other teams that in our hearts we wished played for our team.
Unfortunately I am an "Armchair fan" now.
Will there be courtesy from Utd fans next season ? ----- NO !!
Will there be respect from Utd fans next season ? ------ Grudgingly, we just won't show it !
